• Offers emergency shelter for families, individuals, and couples. Provides them with referrals for housing, health, and jobs.

 

Gregory House

• Offers different housing programs. Gregory House offers 11 beds to people who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. Community Residential Program has 15 beds for homeless people and provides them with classes, group activities, and intensive case management. They are able to stay for up to two years. Temporary Shelter provides homeless people with emergency shelter for up to two weeks at the YMCA or an economy hotel.

• The Lighthouse Outreach Center is the only facility in Oahu that provides a 24- hour safe haven shelter to families, single adults (women/men) children of all ages.

 

Kumuhonua Transitional Living Center

• Kumuhonua is a transitional living center located at Kalaeloa, Barbers Point. Kumuhonua is for single adults and couples (18 and over) who are homeless or at-risk for homelessness. Kumuhonua provides housing (up to 2 years), case management services and ongoing workshops and classes.

• Offers a transitional housing program for homeless, employed women making the difficult transition to become economically self-sufficient. The program includes housing and supportive services that help individuals regain stability as they move toward independent living and permanent housing.

 

Kaaahi Women & Family Shelter

• The Kaaahi emergency shelter and multi-service center is a 24/7 facility serving women and families with children. The women’s dorm offers single bunk beds to shelter a maximum of 90 single women. The family dorm has 36 double beds and 66 single bunk beds to shelter a maximum capacity of 110 individuals (IHS averages 30 families).

• The Sumner emergency shelter and multi-service center is a 24/7 facility with 138 single bunk beds and space for 74 single mattresses to shelter a maximum of 212 single men.

• Offers a 24-month transitional housing program for homeless families with minor dependent children. The goal during these 24 months is to provide the wrap around services and support to overcome barriers to long term employment, independence and permanent housing.

 

Catholic Charities Hawai'i: Maililand: Transitional Housing Program

• Provides temporary housing for homeless families living on beaches, in cars, or in emergency/transitional shelters focusing on those with children under the age of 19. A structured environment helps families develop the necessary skills, education and income to obtain and retain long-term permanent housing within 24 months of program intake. General services include: intake assessment, referral and case management services, on-site educational classes, employment preparation, guidance in planning for a successful transition, and post-exit follow up services. Youth activities, clothing, bedding, and emergency food are also provided.

Family Promise of Hawaii

• Offers existing community resources to aid families with children experiencing homelessness and help them transition to sustainable independence. Family Promise of Hawaii collaborates with local churches, synagogues, mosques and temples to provide overnight accommodations within their buildings. Families are provided a safe place to sleep, healthy meals and hospitality.

• The United Church of Christ Transition House is a safe haven for women and their children who are survivors of domestic violence.  Crossroaders support financially and with volunteer time this ministry where women and their children receive long-term compassionate care, as they work to recover, rebuild their lives, and gain tools to live independently.

Parents and Children Together: Ohia Domestic Violence Shelter
